About

Alexandria Public Schools reached out to InnovateK12 to help identify priorities for investment of ESSER funds with input from families of enrolled students.‍

The Project

  • “Alexandria Public Schools seeks to engage the staff and community about the priorities for the use of the additional ESSER funds being allocated to our schools. Help us by sharing your ideas!”

  • The district first established a board agreement about district priorities for the next two years. Following this action, the superintendent sought public input, as required by receipt of ESSER Funds, as to how to best spend the money allocated for the school district.

  • Using a staggered approach, this event began with 72 hours of community input followed by 72 hours of staff input and finally 48 hours of senior student input. In all, over 43 viable ideas were proposed for consideration to provide social-emotional support, improve instruction, and enhance quality facilities with the ESSER funding.
